Oakwood Sports Centre supports Baraka Community Partnerships (BCP). BCP is a British charitable foundation set up in 2007 by a few private sponsors. BCP currently has one consultant, Andy McKee, and an international, voluntary Board of Directors.
We all share a passion for travel and an appreciation for the diverse people and cultures of the world. We are motivated by a desire to give a helping hand to people in developing countries who may not have received the advantages and privileges that we take for granted in the "developed world". Our focus is on assisting a few small, impoverished communities at a time to give themselves a better life.
Our approach is one of collaboration with the communities we work with and our ultimate goal is long-term sustainability and self-sufficiency through:
